FAO-109-11 Oil Additive (Fluorescent) (8 oz. Can)
This highly fluorescent concentrate can be added to oil systems in the ratio of 1 part to 50 parts. It is invisible in ordinary light but fluoresces strong yellow under black light illumination. FAO-109 is used to pinpoint leaks in hydraulic lines, engine crankcases and shock absorbers. (ASTM 11.3.3)
APPLICATIONS:
Used to locate and monitor for leakage in oil filled systems such as; oil filled transformers, shock absorbers, hydraulic lines and transmission fluids.
SHELF LIFE: Two years
SENSITIVITY: Leaks as small as 1 x 10-4 cc/sec can be found.
TEMPERATURE: Usage: 30°F to 120°F Optimum storage: 50°F to 80°F
SOLUBILITY: Soluble in organic solvents and fuels. Not soluble as mixture in water.
PURITY: Free from chloride and other halogens, sulfur and boron compounds.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Add to hydraulic or lubricating oil in a ratio of 1part to 50 parts. With the equipment under pressure, inspect points of suspected leakage with black light (365-400nm) using safety glasses. If a bright yellow-green fluoresence appears, a leak is indicated.
SAFETY: For best results use with UV Black Light (L105-400) and Safety Glasses (AG-EW-100).
