5 lbs C28R-26 Red Dry Magnetic Particles for finding surface and sub-surface flaws.
Flaw Finder non-fluorescent dry magnetic particles/powders are used for dry method magnetic particle inspection. These are designed to be high contrast on most metal surfaces for use in visible light. Electric current is applied to the ferrous metal part for magnetization and the particles indicate small flaws and discontinuities. (Three colors are available: Grey, Yellow and Red)
METHOD: Test in accordance with ASTM E1444. Sprinkle or spray the powder over the area or part that has been magnetized (a powder spray bulb can be used for this). Areas of flux leakage (cracks) contain both north and south magnetic poles. The iron powder is drawn to these poles, indicating the location and extent of the defect.
APPEARANCE: Fine, dry iron powder
